TROWBRIDGE LIONS CLUB
Club Social Events
The Admin Committee carries out the management of the club on behalf of its members.
We Lions "Work hard and Play hard", and to do this we arrange various social functions for the members to meet and enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere.
We arrange a Sunday Lunch, this year in the Masonic Hall, where we cook, serve (and wash-up) a meal for all members, ex-Lions, and Friends-of Lions.
We organise the annual Charter Dinner, where celebrate our birthday and invite fellow Lions from local Clubs, and Lions from our District organisation. We also invite local celebrities and enjoy the company of individual friends to join in the celebrations.
Our Christmas Dinner comes at the end of the collection period in the run-up to the Christmas festivities, where we let-our-hair-down and reflect on a busy December.
We enjoy a Sunday morning walk along the Kennet and Avon canal from Bradford on Avon to Avoncliff where some walkers pause a have a delicious lunch before the return journey.
We celebrate the life of "Robbie Burns" at a local hostelry where we enjoy a traditional 'haggis'And associated fare normally accompanied to the sound of bagpipes.
The Hand-Over function is where all the committees meet and swop duties for the forthcoming year. This is followed by a joint evening meal accompanied by our wives and partners.
The highlight of the "summer" is usually an afternoon barbeque again cooked and served by Lion members and enjoyed by partners and friends.
Another event where we meet is the Host Evening. This is where several couples meet at members home and jointly prepare and enjoy a Dinner Party.
We also arrange our meeting venues and are very grateful to our hosts at Trowbridge Cricket Club for allowing the use of their facilities.
